Lieutenant Colonel Shoshannah B. Lane
A native of South Jersey, Lieutenant Colonel Shoshannah B. Lane graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1999 and received her commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Aviation Branch.
After attending flight school and the Officers Basic Course at Fort Rucker, Alabama, she was assigned to 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas, where she served as an Aeroscout Platoon Leader, Assistant S-3, and Deputy Secretary of the General Staff for 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized). She deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2004).
After attending the Aviation Captains Career Course and OH-58D Maintenance Test Pilot course at Fort Rucker, LTC Lane moved to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. In the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, she served as the Production Control Officer in B Company, 209th Aviation Support Battalion and deployed again in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2006-2007). While in Iraq, she took command of D Troop, 2nd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment.
LTC Lane then attended graduate school and taught German at USMA, where she also mentored and helped coach the USMA Marathon Team. After departing USMA, LTC Lane attended the Army’s Intermediate Level Education at the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
After ILE, LTC Lane took command of B Company, 96th Aviation Support Battalion in July 2012, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and then deployed for nine months to Bagram, Afghanistan, to support Operation Enduring Freedom (2012-2013). Following command, she assumed duties as the Executive Officer for the 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment. LTC Lane then served as the Strategic Outreach Officer for the Chief of Staff of the Army in the Pentagon. Most recently, LTC Lane commanded the 46th Aviation Support Battalion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. She is currently a student at Georgetown University pursuing a PhD in German and Second Language Acquisition.
LTC Lane’s education includes a Bachelor’s of Science Degree (German) from the United States Military Academy, a Master’s of Arts from Middlebury College (German), and a Master’s of Science from the Business School at the University of Kansas (Logistics and Supply Chain Management).
LTC Lane’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Air Medal (2nd Award), Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), the Combat Action Badge, Senior Aviator Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
LTC Lane is married to LTC Connie Mark Lane, currently commanding 1-5 Aviation Regiment at Fort Polk, Louisiana. They have one daughter, Lilly, who is three years old.

Gold Star Mother Susan Price
Susan Price is a Gold Star Mother and resides in the Tampa Florida area.
As the daughter of a Marine and an Army Veteran, she is the Mother of American Hero, Marine Gunnery Sgt, Aaron M.
Kenefick who was KIA Sept 8th 2009, in the Kunar Province of Afghanistan during the “Ganjgal Ambush” forever tied to
two Living Medal of Honor Recipients, CPL Marine Dakota Meyer and Army Captain Will Swenson.
Through the death and grief of her Marine son Aaron, Susan has transformed her pain by getting involved as a Veterans
Advocate and Networker with many Military and Gold Star Family groups across the nation, she finds healing, comfort and
a sense of belonging to a very special group of people who share a comradery with one another, the less then 1% of
Americans who serve our great nation in uniform, for these people are Heroes without capes.
Susan is the Mother of two Daughters, and the Nana of 7 Grandchildren, she shares her legacy and hopes with her family
and reminds them that they were born into a Proud Marine family surrounded by the presence of many of America’s
Heroes.

ADVERTISE IN OUR DEDICATION BOOKLET
The Dedication Booklet is a way to advertise or show appreciation to our wounded troops with a Thank you ad. Whether you are a business, corporation, family, team, group of friends, or individual; you have the opportunity to get into the ad book. Not only will this book be available at the event and have a lot of exposure, but a portion of the books will also be delivered to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and distributed to the wounded soldiers there. This is your chance to advertise with a page or business card, or thank the troops and their families for their sacrifice to our country. Please take the time and “space” to do so.

ABOUT THE WALK
Date to be Determined for the Walk for the Wounded on the Ocean City Boardwalk. Registration for the Walk takes place at the Ocean City Music Pier at 8:30 a.m., and the three-mile Walk begins at 10:00 a.m.
The goal of the day is two-fold:
1. To draw attention to the plight of tens of thousands of returning soldiers who are wounded, and whose families are facing significant financial and emotional challenges as their loved one recovers.
2. To raise funds to help meet the critical needs of these families, many of whom are in crisis right now – today, in hometowns all across the country.
QUICK FACTS:
- Operation First Response (OFR) delivers over 97 cents of every dollar raised to wounded soldiers and their families.
- OFR is staffed by mostly volunteers; with the exception of one full-time and one part-time salary workers.
- The 3 mile walk will take place on the Ocean City Boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ.
- Companies are also invited to become Walk or Corporate Sponsors or to advertise in the WALK PROGRAM being distributed at the event.
- People are invited to simply make a donation.
OUR CAUSE
It is hard for us to comprehend waking up each day in a hostile country, putting our life on the line to protect people from terrorists who have no fear and no conscience about planning and conducting mass murder. It is harder still to imagine how it feels to be at the heart of a bomb explosion – or to be shot by snipers – or to be the target of a single man or woman whose mission is to be a human bomb. Sadly, many lives are lost. But of equal importance are the lives that are changed forever in the blink of an eye by severe wounds, life changing amputations, and painful surgeries – often followed by mounting bills at home, necessary job retraining, home renovations and more. Just dealing with the emotional scars is difficult – but with your donations OFR ‘has their back’ on the home front.
OUR MISSION
Operation First Response, Inc., supports our nation’s Wounded Warriors and their families with personal and financial needs. Services are provided from the onset of injury, throughout their recovery period and along their journey from military life into the civilian world. Financial aid varies as each case is based on individual needs ranging from rent, utilities, vehicle payments, groceries, clothing, and travel expenses.
