Operation First Response Backpacks

OFR backpacks are sent to combat support hospitals in theatre. The backpacks are given to our wounded when they arrive at the hospitals with no personal belongings. These backpacks ensure that our wounded have a little love from home to comfort them until they return to the states.

Operation First Response Cot Quilts

Operation First Response is always in need of handmade blankets and quilts (sizes may vary). Smaller sizes will be included in our backpacks sent to our wounded.    Cot Size = 45×45 or 36×36. Larger sizes will be hand-delivered to military medical facilities in the states.

Before collecting any items for the OFR Backpacks, please contact our office for a list of the needed items.

OFR Hygiene Bag Program

Providing Comfort, Dignity, and Care to Our Heroes

At Operation First Response, we believe that caring for our Nation’s Heroes means meeting both their urgent needs and the everyday essentials that help restore dignity and comfort during difficult times.

Through our OFR Hygiene Bag Program, we assemble and distribute travel-size personal care kits to Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, and First Responders who may be facing hardship.

These hygiene bags are delivered directly to Veteran shelters, community food pantries, and organizations that support those in need, ensuring that Heroes and their families have access to basic personal care items that many of us take for granted.

For individuals experiencing financial hardship, homelessness, or temporary instability, something as simple as a hygiene kit can provide comfort, dignity, and a reminder that their service has not been forgotten.

Items Included in the Hygiene Bags

Each kit may include travel-size essentials such as:

  • Nail Clippers

  • Nail File

  • Lip Balm

  • Cotton Swabs

  • Deodorant

  • Disposable Razors

  • Shaving Cream Packets

  • Shampoo

  • Hand Lotion

  • Anti-Bacterial Wet Wipes

  • 5” Hair Comb

  • Toothbrush

  • Toothpaste

  • Mouthwash

  • Dental Floss (single use)

How You Can Help

Community members, volunteers, businesses, schools, and civic groups can support this program by donating travel-size hygiene items or hosting supply drives.

Together, these small acts of kindness allow us to assemble hygiene kits that provide comfort, dignity, and care to the Heroes who have served our country and communities.

Operation First Response is proud to continue Serving America’s Finest by meeting both the urgent and everyday needs of those who sacrifice so much.

Why Hygiene Kits Matter

For many of the Veterans and Heroes we serve through shelters and community food pantries, daily necessities are often the first things sacrificed during times of hardship. When someone is struggling to afford food, housing, or medical care, basic personal care items quickly become a luxury.

A simple hygiene kit can restore something incredibly important — dignity.

Being able to brush your teeth, shave, wash your hands, or take care of basic grooming needs helps people feel human again during difficult moments. It provides comfort, confidence, and a reminder that someone cares.

To the person receiving it, a small bag of essentials is more than just supplies.
It is a message that their service, sacrifice, and wellbeing still matter.

At Operation First Response, we believe every Hero deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect — even in the smallest ways.

“Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness carry the greatest impact.”
