RecoverCare, a Louisville-based distributor of wound-care products, has become a corporate sponsor of Operation First Response, a nonprofit organization that gives emergency assistance to wounded U.S. military personnel and their families.
Operation First Response provides items such as clothing and hygiene products to wounded personnel, first at combat support hospitals and then afterward. Services include travel for family members and, if needed, help with rent, utilities and other expenses during a soldier’s recuperation.
RecoverCare, which sells its products to hospitals and other medical centers, will give Operation First Response a portion of its annual sales to military and veterans’ health-care facilities.
The donations are “a meaningful way to give back to the brave men and women who serve our country,” Gary Romanik, senior vice president of RecoverCare, said in a statement.
